Missions & Objectives

MISSION

MAIN mission is to contribute to strengthen the capacities of microfinance institutions through the establishment of an African program for the promotion and consolidation of inclusive finance in a process of economic, social and environmental development of the continent. In the center of the mission of MAIN, is a desire to promote the SSE (Social and Solidarity Economy) on the African continent.

OBJECTIVES

Strengthening the operational capacities of the African microfinance institutions so that they can provide sustained and appropriate product and services to their clients.

Providing a forum of reflection and exchange to African microfinance institutions to undesrtand better their environment and internalize the issue that influence their operations at national and international level and enable them to integrate their activities in the global developpement process..

Governance bodies

I- General Meeting

Composed of ordinary members, delegates of affiliate members and delegates of honorary members. It meets every two years and decides on the general orientation of the association.

II- The Board of directors

Composed of a chairperson, a vice-chairperson, a treasurer and four members. It meets every six months to monitor the implementation of programs and projects and decides on budgets. It controls the resources of the association and appoints the executive director of the network

The current Board of Directors is composed of :

2- Mr. MUTUA Kimanthi, Vice-Chairman (K-Rep, Kenya)

3- Mrs. ADOUKOUNOU V. Huguette, Treasurer (AFRICA Finances, Bénin)

4- Mr. PENCHE Joan, Deputy Treasurer (SIDI, France)

5- Mrs. MUTABARUKA Nadine, Member (WISE, Burundi)

6- Mrs. SAKIOUDI AMINA, Member (CMS, Maroc)

7- Prof. DDUMBA- SSENTAMU John, Member (CENTENARY, Ouganda)

III- The Executive Direction

Responsible for the implementation of the objectives and strategies. The Executive Direction develops programs and activities in coordination with the member institutions, organizes seminars, training workshops and exchange programs. It publishes the network’s newsletter and mobilizes the resources required to implement the activities.
